We had a youth fundraiser shortly after my posts about how things had really become a struggle again. I could not even believe how we were showered by people. Several people bought things and then gave them to us. We were overwhelmed by the outpouring of people who kept saying "Our pastors should have this" or "give this to the pastors' kids."
We certainly don't need more material belongings. We are quite rich compared to many people in the world, but their generosity touched me. For the people in our congregation, the put their money on the things they care about. And on that night, they used what they had to show appreciation to us. I so needed to feel loved and cared for. Thank you, God!
